Desert Elf

Desert Elves, otherwise known as the Shatari, are a race of Elves have evolved to withstand the harsh, hot, and dry climate of the desert. They are said to have once been Wood Elves and by divine means lost their wooded homeland when it was turned to desert. For this reason it is often thought that the Desert Elves are "punished".
This is untrue, Desert Elves are simply victims to circumstance. It is a large part of Shatari culture that they lost their wooded homeland but that it was by a feud with the Gods and nothing that the Shatari did that caused this. Wrong place, wrong time. That being said they are smart, cunning, and headstrong, always having a chipper demeanor on life.

You ignore difficult terrain while travelling through the desert. 

Travelling Trance

Desert Elves are accustomed to long days of travel without moving. Because of this they have developed the ability to travel while in a Trance. You can enter a Trance while walking in a semi-lucid state. You may only walk on a set path such as a road or with the guide of your allies, you fail any perception checks to notice your surroundings, and you will not walk into any danger on purpose. While Trancing in this way you gain the benefits of a long rest but only after 8 hours of Trance.
