Annihilation

Annihilation is considered to be the most powerful form of all spells. Taking the place as the only Deadly spell of Bounding Magic. Considered unique for its ability to break the 6th law, The Law of Destruction, it has only ever been used once by Donovan Hawthorn in his final action, accidentally allowing him to destroy a complete continent. It destroys matter on an unprecedented scale, and, unlike all other Deadly spells, it is capable of destroying matter rather than changing its atomic structure.

Effect

Main Effect

The main effect of the spell is to create a large sphere of broken space. Broken space, as defined by the Mage's Guild, is space devoid of all matter while perfectly surrounded by matter, breaking all laws of physics. When cast, the spell fully destroys the matter in the range of the sphere, leading to a perfect gap of matter that leads to the rest of the matter around it having to fill in the space where it was.

Secondary Effects

Though never confirmed as it has only been cast once, it is thought to be so powerful that it kills the caster. This was seen when Donovan Hawthorn discovered the spell in his search for ultimate power and reaching a level 18 ranking as a Mage, which he accomplished in his death.

Manifestation

As no one present for the spell was around for its casting, the Mage's Guild believes that it drains all light and temperature from the air. Taking up the energy from all of the space around it, it instantly destroys everything in its path leading to a large whirl of wind pulling matter into the empty space.

The power of the spell is drawn directly from the Mage, using all of their power. The spell could also use the power of a Relic, possibly being the only spell capable of impacting Relics as it was thought to have destroyed the Bounding Magic Relic that was in the possession of Donovan Hawthorn when he cast the spell, to expand the horizons of its power.

Discovery

Having only been cast once, it was named for its sheer scope. It's discoverer, Donovan Hawthorn, was killed up using it. Since then, it has never been used as no Bounding Magic Mage has ever been able to reproduce its effects to the scope that Donovan was able to.
