A land shrouded in mists, dangerous and unknown.   The cosmos governed by the Celestial Dragons, also known as the gods; Fae controlling the seasons, their court changing hands as the leaves turn red, and as the first flowers bloom; Artificers in their studies, perfecting their machinations to unveil to the world, their wizardly compatriots scoffing at their inventions. With widely spaced points of civilization, brave villages and towns daring to place themselves within the Hinterlands, the world of Curinia and the continents therein have withstood millenia of difficulties, even as foul creatures lurk beneath their cities, and outside their walls.   The Watchers, as they are known, are a loose conglomerate of adventurers who have all sworn the same agreement, regardless of their individual creeds and affiliations; we will NOT go into that dark night quietly. Striking out against those who would threaten them, the Watchers are as mysterious as they are odd, sharing their own bounty of heroes and villains within their ranks. Recruitment is as strange as it is unpredictable; a rogue coming home from a night's haul to find the Watcher's eye, with a note of instruction. A paladin swearing in her oath, only to have her instructor hand her the insignia, recruiting her in their long quest. While the world at large distrusts them, the Watchers know that in their ranks they might find companionship; company to help them through their grim quest.   Whether by striking out against demons masquerading as nobles, or making peace with the orcs that have raided a village for years; by creating new centers of learning, or training a farmhand to hold his first sword so that he may too protect his family, the Watchers will stand against the dark.   Yet even the Watchers' eyes may be blind to the coming darkness.
