Trade Common
A Note On Trade Common
Trade Common is the lingua franca of Cuendar. As such, it will be translated into English for the purposes of this wiki.
Trade Common is an Ilic language that originated as a constructed auxilary language for communication between speakers of Old Cuendish and Mariscine. Over time, as more Cuends adopted the language, it began to change, adopting more elements of Old Cuendish grammar, pronunciation, and morphology and making those elements more consistent. The result is the Trade Common that is generally spoken by most Mescáni: a sort of Mariscine creole that is simpler and more consistent than the original constructed language.
