Basalt Demarchy

The Basalt Demarchy is the country that occupies the upper half of the continent of Dyphos on The Bountiful Plain: Edeliun. It was founded by Pumice Steady-Chisel in the year 32 SE under the name The Steady-Chisel Empire, upon his death in 72 SE. there was no named successor among his many children, instead his last decree stated that rule of the country would pass to the child that would create the best piece of art as presented to a council of his closest friends.

Government

The Basalt Demarchy is a Demarchy, meaning that decisions are made by decision making groups. The Demarchy only has one group, each year the country holds The Grand Foundry, a contest that every resident of the country may enter, the winner is admitted to the The Basalt Council.
