Tegwen

Whilst there is lots of discussion around what constitutes a good or bad leader, Tegwen is considered by her people a great leader. When Tegwen was first found by the Rhyddhawyd tribe they took her in because she needed them, they fed her clothed her and accepted her for who she was, which was something that not many people had done in her life. Once she was healthy and healing, she put her use of magic to good use. Previously in her life she had been a healer, one that was skilled in multiple magics because of her birth. As she was born a male into a wealthy family that lived in Byd Dwr she had the luxury to study medicine in a higher form than most would study, fuelled by her want to change gender and learn about the body. When she managed to combine transmutation and evocation with apothecary to perform a gender confirming ritual that would change her, she was banned from practising medicine and magic. After the ordeal of the ritual and banishment from Byd Dwr was when the tribe found her.
Using her healing and magical abilities for the tribe meant that she very quickly became a vital member of the community and would often help those who were new to adjust. Over the years her rank grew until she was the second hand to Anais (The tribe leader at the time). When the Elite’s men came into the big green – to retrieve all the tribe’s information about magic, the warriors stood against them with Tegwen on the battlefield to help the wounded on both sides. The battle went on for days, neither side giving in despite the injured and the depletion of food for the soldiers. Tegwen took it upon herself to transfigure hundreds of random objects like leaves and bowls into the books they’d been searching for, with a spell so powerful that it would be maintained for weeks after the soldiers returned. This as well as wiping the location of the base camp from the minds of the men who searched for weeks to find it. After the battle Tegwen was voted the leader by the elders, because of the initiative and care that she showed to resolve the issue without more violence. Since the vote the tribe has grown stronger and safer so that anyone who finds it that is not welcomed will forget the way.
