Dryn

Dryn is a young transman that was born into the small village of Tri Bryn (three hills) which is east of the Gwyrdd Mawr, halfway between the coast and the town of Coed Cudd (hidden trees). He was born into a family of farm workers with his father and brother working the fields and his mother sorting the grains. He was a smart child, realising from an early age that he wasn’t like the other women in the village, they would sit and chatter whilst sorting through the grain and taking care of the children. He always wanted more and was fascinated by the gossip of mages and merchants that the woman would whisper. At a young age he started exhibiting signs that the others knew weren’t ‘normal’ both in terms of his behaviour as a ‘girl’ and as a magic user whose development was far beyond their years. He learnt quickly to hide both of these, to practise his magic in secret and to make sure he acted appropriately in front of everyone else.
As he grew older the divide between him and the rest of the village grew too, he’d rather spend time alone in the barn working on connecting to the elements and reading the few books on magic he had hidden away in the panels of the barn. It was one of those winter days when he was hiding from his family that he found the wolf puppy hiding in the warm grain, it was a small black puppy that was scared of everyone and everything around him. Dryn (who wasn’t dryn back then) knew of the lone wolf that the village had recently fought to keep away from the livestock, he hadn’t seen the wolf himself, but it was all the women had chatted about for the following days. It was then he knew that this was a gift from the earth, an animal that would be his companion and give him the strength that he needed to progress his future.
As all secrets do, Dryn’s came to light both of his wolf companion he’d named Eban and his identity, whilst neither of these had the best reception from his family or the village. It gave him the final push to leave and start his journey to find a way to change who he is through magic. With Eban as his companion he embarked on the journey to develop a way that would allow his body to change so that it fit him the way that it was always meant too.
