Cylch Cerrig - Stone Circle

Back when society was nomadic, people would often spend the supermoons recharging themselves at the intersections of lay lines. These are the areas where the natural energy is the strongest, often some form of marker is placed at the site of the intersection. Most commonly these are large stones that protrude from the ground that are placed in an approximate circle. Whilst these have been mostly forgotten and subjected to the elements many of the stone circles are still standing, to varying degrees of disrepair. When they were being used in the supermoon rituals, the stones would be the gathering point at night-time so that those in the centre of those stones that would perform grounding rituals from mediation to chanting. With the moon at its strongest at midnight, the placement of the stones and its position over the intersections of the ley lines it acts as a magnifier of the natural energy that is magic. With the amplification of the force it’s one of the best places to replenish the energy that would be exerted from performing all sorts of magic.   As the culture of people settling down in towns and villages, whilst there were a few that would be close to these stone circles. The majority would not be wanting to leave the comfort of their own homes to make the trip for the replenishment ritual. Whilst the supermoons are still a day of celebration for many, the day moved from the practicality of replenishing the energy to the representation of the supermoon and what it means for the upcoming time frame until the next supermoon (They happen twice a year). Over time these monuments stopped being used and the rituals that would be performed became less and less common until they were eventually forgotten and replaced with structures that are raised off the ground to get them physically closer to the moon.
