Aeloth

Geography

The Aldevarian Ocean and Surging Sea separate Aeloth from the other continents, and it has developed a unique ecosystem. The passages between them, like the Kylfet Strait, are important trade routes. The eastern Ghael Falar plain slopes downwards to the border with the Ferenwen Mountains. On a clear day, denizens of Elunore can see the peak of Blackwell Mountain about 250 miles away. The central lands have been subject to great volcanic activity, and Aeloth shows the signs of this clearly. Cloud movement shows that Aeloth predominantly has upper-level southerly winds, resulting in a mild, though often hot, climate. Aeloth is free from snow and ice besides the southern region of the Island of Myr.

Mainland Aeloth

Mainland Aeloth consists of the Ferenwen Mountains, the fertile Ghael Falar plains (which includes swamps), the Saar Gah Desert and Lake Ethyliên.

Kylfet Isle

Kylfet Isle, also called the Capital Isle, is a large island located north of the main continent, and is shielded by the mainland with the exception of its northern coast, which meets the Aldevarian Ocean. The island itself is named after Saron Kylfet, the Meldari who settled first on the isle. It is characterized by rocky highlands and coastal wetlands filled with unusual and unique flora and fauna.

Island of Myr

The Island of Myr comprises the western part of Aeloth, and is divided by the Kylfet Strait to the east and the Aldevarian Ocean to the north and west.

History

The climate and geography in Aeloth depends from region to region. The Ferenwen Mountains separate Aeloth from the provinces to the west, and it has developed a unique ecosystem. The passages between them, like Meldeth Pass, are important trade routes. The southern Ghael Falar plain slopes downwards to the border with the Mulfthyr Swamps. On a clear day, denizens of Felren can see the peak of Blackwell Mountain about 400 kilometers away. The western lands have been subject to great volcanic activity, and Aeloth shows the signs of this clearly. Cloud movement shows that the continent predominantly has upper-level northerly winds, resulting in a mild, though often hot, and climate. Most parts of Aeloth are free from snow and ice except the lands in the south and west. The large island of Kylfet is located inside the bay-like Vrosh Waters and is almost completely surrounded by mainland Aeloth in the south. The North-eastern regions district is dominated by the great volcano, Blackwell Mountain. It is characterized by arid wastes, rocky highlands and coastal wetlands filled with unusual and unique flora and fauna.
