Existing in small numbers since the end of the Shogunate, the Liminals are the mysterious Chosen-elect of a remnant of the First Age that sank into the darkness of the Underworld long ago. It is believed that they result from passionate attempts to raise the dead. The Liminals search for meaning in their new lives while compelled by their dark mother to police the boundaries between life and death. They are most commonly seen tracking rogue ghosts, fighting wicked spirits of death and plague, and hunting the undead.
