Founding

The people of Hekros overthrow their old monarchy and establish their newly selected form of government.

The Hekrosian Kritarchy declared itself independent from the old monarch this year, and laid claim to the capital city. The event was spearheaded by a rebellious force given substance by high ranking guild members, direction by scholars and philosophers, and firepower by the force of armed commonfolk. A series of carefully executed plans lead to the city's freedom: the rebel guildmasters staged a large number of strikes in key industries of the monarchy's export ring, reducing the tax revenue of the king whilst several prominent figures of the already well established academies began speaking to the common people upon the virtue of liberty. Finally, as the capital's government forces were weakened by loss of revenue, the citizens began armed revolts against government buildings, and eventually the king's tower. The royal family evacuated the city, and the guildmasters and rebel leaders held the first trial of the kritarchy to select its first judges that would lead the nation into a new era.
