Helena, a furrier by trade, is a woman of the wood first and foremost, her skill in hunting and trapping unquestioned in her hometown of Rancorheim. She leads or advises many of the village's hunting parties and works the furs of the animals most hunters catch into clothing. While she is technically not a member of the elder council, she often advises them on the state of the forest past the farmlands, and is a highly respected member of the village.
Her and her husband have one daughter, and they live on the edge of the settlement, just within Rancorheim's outermost palisade.

Helena has one apprentice, a young boy named Erev Hairhorn whose parents are passed and who lives with his elderly grandmother. While he is eager to hunt and trap, she often gives him work at the shop, insisting he stay inside the village walls to remain close to his grandmother.
