The Isle of Wirtelkag is a land of war. After being thrown into chaos by the death of its king in a great war, and having his successor be killed in a revolution, the people are divided against each other. Different dukes and warlords each strive to take over the Island, and the people suffer in the process. Meanwhile, monsters in the forests and hills return to the island, attacking the people and reminding them of the menaces that plagued the land before they were driven back by the kings and dukes of old. It is against this backdrop of war that a single interloper from a foreign world will become the hero the people need. He will gather together a group of Wirtelkag's greatest misfits and weirdos, and become the greatest warrior the Isle has ever known. Together they shall reunite the island once more and save the people from the suffering they have endured for the past hundred years or so. This is the world of Pawil Strasbach, and it chronicles his exploits in his efforts to reunite the Isle, as well as the exploits of his family after and their effects on the world stage (which will be shaken up by conflict, war, and revolution).
