Major language groups and dialects

The Goldcrest variety of Yazyk is the dialect most commonly heard in multicultural cities, and also the one which has diverged the most noticeably from the standard. Most notably, Goldcrest Yazyk contains far more borrowings from Common and other human languages.

Common Etiquette rules

With their caste system no longer in operation, Goldcrests have mostly dropped the status markers in their speech which used to indicate whether they were speaking to someone of a shallower or deeper caste. These markers have become insults in Goldcrest culture, and most Goldcrests would be offended to be addressed as anything other than an equal.

Goldcrests vary in how strictly they adhere to the Dwarven religious prohibitions on sleeping and giving birth aboveground.

Major organizations

Unlike every other dwarven clan, the Goldcrest clan does not have a single centralised leadership, nor does it have a surviving monarchy. Instead, most Goldcrests either integrate into the political structures wherever they choose to settle or police themselves in smaller local units. This typically involves electing a spokesperson to interface with local authorities and negotiate their free passage.
