Corpus Inquisition: A DnD 5e 40k Hack

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war. The enemies of Mankind them surrounded, with many human worlds being lost daily to constant battle and treachery from mutants, heretics, and xenos. It is heroes like the men and women such as those of The Emperor's Holy Inquisition, that stand between humanity and certain extinction.   395.07 M41 Inquisitor Parath of the Emperor of Mankind’s holy Inquisition has been sent to the Sargos Sector on a routine investigation after one of its systems, the Corpus System, had been cut off by warp storms for half a century. Unfortunately, he had found that the entire system was under siege by both Xenos forces and the forces of Chaos, with Imperial forces barely holding on. Without having the time to organize a crusade, and not having ships capable of Exterminatus, Inquisitor Parath is forced to induct whoever he can find that is willing and capable, into his retinue.   Inquisitor Parath and his retinues of loyal servants of the Emperor are stationed aboard the 'Zealous Pride', orbiting the planet of Vargon Secundus. This planet, while mostly unsettled, does contain settlements and cities spread throughout the land. These settlements are separated by the vast sea of forest, desert, and arctic tundra that make up the planet’s ecosystem.   The Imperial Guard regiment assigned to this system, the Sargos 43rd, have lost most of the eastern settlements to Xenos and Chaos forces, and have concentrated on defending whatever settlements they already control. They are assisted by a force from the Raptors, an Adeptus Astartes (Space Marine) chapter, that were trapped in the system during the warp storms. The members of the party have been assigned by Inquisitor Parath to assist Imperial forces and citizens on the planet while a relief force is organized. Inquisitor Parath himself is required to stay aboard the Zealous Pride and command forces from there, thus leaving the party to their own devices.   Beset on all sides by the various enemies of the Imperium, the Inquisitorial Retinue will be tested, both in skill and loyalty. It has yet to be seen whether they will shine as heroes, or another casualty of galactic attrition.
