Stormy Swarmers

One form of Beasts, specifically an aquatic creature. It gets its name from the season of year they form mating swarms in. This swarming is when most of the years haul comes from. (Like salmon in our world.) Stormy Swarmers possess one special ability:
  • To create hypnotic noises which draw in their prey.
This power can be counteracted by earplugs, which is how the human fishermen survive the years haul.

Basic Information

Anatomy

A scaled body with an armored head and a powerful jaw. Long rectangular body with powerful swimming fins. Multiple gill-like openings on the side of the body through which the hypnotic sounds pass through.

Biological Traits

Length, grows longer as it gets older.

Genetics and Reproduction

The yearly swarm is an egg-laying frenzy where eggs are laid, fertilized, and then attatched to any thing nearby, plants, rocks, boats, other fish. The eggs hatch about two months later.

Growth Rate & Stages

The fish reaches full size in one year when it joins the next swarm and mates. then almost immediately after thats done it perishes.

Saltwater, deep and warm.

Dietary Needs and Habits

carnivorous, eats any creature that it can get in its mouth. hunts using the hypnotic noises to lure prey then strikes with its powerful jaws.

quality meat. The meat is luxury in season and expensive as hell out of season. eaten mostly by people who can afford it/ fishermen with bigger boats.
