Conjunction

In the beginning, the gods created the world, each an embodied Essence that gave of themselves to create the glorious tapestry that is creation. From the gods sprang all things, and all things on the gods depend, and only through the patronage of the gods can Mortals be spared the direst of fates.   The gods are immortal, omnipotent and undying, save by divine hands, and possess a wisdom beyond the reckoning of mortal men.   So they would have you believe, anyway.   In truth, men made gods, not the reverse.   The conjunction of the elemental planes formed the material, forming matter and life. From life sprang thought, and with thought came Will, which shapes all.   Thought shaped Essence, and Will drew power from the planes, unlocking the secrets of divinity. Men made gods of themselves, and jealously guarded the ways behind them with lies, secrets and threats.
