History
They were once a great and prosperous race, until they decide to try and manipulate one of their insects to give it sentience. They felt they could control it. It failed many times until it seem to work, and they praised themselves for their achievement. Only their creation was aware but they only seem to heightened their natural abilities. They tried to improve on it, they had succeed once, surely they could do it again. Yet, their Creation, Lock'st they named them. They fed and watch them pleased with that they made a insect to have more brains, sentience would not be far out of their reach.
They enlarge their grounds for the new Insect, even introduce untainted ones to see if they would breed true, all in the name of curiosity. They were delighted when it worked, their Lock'st were able to breed and wasn't that their second achievement they were able to make it breed true.
They forgot the nature of the insect they picked, it wasn't a pest but it did have good defences, that of turning organic material to liquid for them to ingest. They of course kept this in their upgrade of the insect, though they were puzzled why some of the material they put in their habitat seem to disappear, though their Lock'st seem to be healthy and multiplying. Everything was as it should be, until the day it wasn't.
They never even comprehend what they done until their Lock'st number increased that their habitat was no longer big enough, they escaped and found a great supply of food, the creators and their buildings. Lock'st were mindless in their hunger, desiring only to eat, breed and eat again. The Great Xovrark civilisation was destroyed, a few were able to escape the Trading Sect of their people who were not on the planet that fell to the Lock'st. The returned to a world they left only five days before to find a ruin and a giant ball float in space. It took them another year to searching, discovering other worlds ruined as their own, to finally realise that the ball they spotted was the reason. The Lock'st, the great achievement of the Minds of Xovrark, destroyed them and was now free to do the same to rest of the universe.
