Space Navy become Space Fleet
The means of being able to go out into the galaxy saw the ships develop both capable of defence but also exploration as they wanted to know what was in those stars they has stared up for 27 Centuries, and though they have yet to find much beyond ruins and warning of some dire threat.
Structure
Head of the Fleet is the Admiral of the Fleet
They report to the President of the Terran Federation, they are responsible for the upkeep and administering the whole of the Fleet.
They have kept the Earth Navy rank order for the rest of the hierarchy. The Fleet has a Academy, and College for training purposes, along with a four ship building yards, and 9 space stations that are moveable to particular areas to shorten supply routes, but also to supply the ships as they are self contained and help defray the cost by supporting the Fleet in foodstuffs and manufacturing uniforms, and metals need for the ships.
Public Agenda
They are to protect and defend the people of Terran. They are to do this by way of mapping the galaxy, but also ships defending trade routes and the exploration of galaxy for any possible threats.
Assets
Terran Fleet has over 1,000 large ships from Dreadnoughts to Flight Carriers, to Destroyers to simple shuttles, and squadrons of fighters.
They are over three quarters self-funded, but are partially funded by the Terran Federation in the way of money to pay, though this is supplemented by their own production and leasing on their space stations.
History
The Terran Fleet has a long and noble history, that dates back to before they left Earth, as they were made from the United Nations Military Force, and were the ships used to discover what was on the other side of the Wormhole discovered. This has been their long term purpose is to discover what is other there, still, as the Space is quiet large and Terran are sure that there will be life out there beside themselves.
