Moyals
Basic Information
Anatomy
Moyals possess incredibly durable claws, similar in composition to a Stonebeak's bill.
Biological Traits
Moyals are large quadrupedal mammals that can range in size but are always comparable to a cow or bull in size and mass.
Genetics and Reproduction
The species is socially similar to ants, with many males and one/two queen/s. The reclusive nature of the queen Moyal leaves fertilization and birth a mystery, it is well possible that the Moyals are monotremes.
Ecology and Habitats
Moyals dwell in rocky mineral rich dry biomes. Grounds with weak structural integrity are avoided by Moyals.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Moyal's depend heavily on good sources of iron, sodium and calcium. Domesticated Moyals are often malnourished due to poor mineral intake.
Additional Information
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Moyals are found all of the Stonelands but nests and queens are found only within the Stone-Sun cliffs.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Moyal's have exceptional senses of smell and a superfine sense of pseudo-hearing. Moyal's have been able to distinguish where different minerals are based on both scent, and density. By tapping on certain parts of stone, they can gain a general sense of direction to denser or lighter minerals. While the method of detection uses a mechanism similar to hearing, Moyals have a separate sense of hearing that they use to listen for communication and detection of prey.
