Backstory

Thorne’s earliest memories are surviving on the streets by stealing food and pickpocketing where he could. He found that sometimes he could improve his luck by swearing at the person allowing him get away with more than most of the other street kids besides the halflings. This was of no help when he developed a severe case of pneumonia during a particularly cold and miserable winter. Unable to find somewhere to stay dry and warm, he passed out while huddling in a doorway. When he regained consciousness, he found himself in a warm bed being fed soup by an old man who he came to know as Quw who nursed him back to health, training him in his arts. Once back to full health, Thorne was sent on many errands for Quw, his first was clearing some rats from a neighbours house.

It was on the return of one of these errands that Thorne discovered that there had been a fire during the night which had destroyed a number of huts and due to his age Quw didn’t escape in time. Devastated Thorne searched the ashes of the destroyed building to discover the small amulet that Quw always wore.

Once again Thorne finds himself alone in Farrathia with only the possessions on his back.
