Aereni (Star Elves)

The Aereni are technically long lost cousins of the High Elves, recently returned from their own planet of Terra.

Characteristics

The star elves are very similar to their ancient High Elven cousins. They tend to have white or silver hair, and eyes of various colour, with purple being the least common. They specialise in spatial magic, and creating rifts. They used this magic to travel the stars, and seek out new worlds to occupy.

History

The star elves of Terra retreated to this planet and stayed there for a little over two millennia, until they were forced out by demons called the Tanar-ri who invaded their homes, seeking knowledge of their spatial magic.   While most of the Aereni worlds have fallen to the Tanar'ri, it became a common practice for Aereni parents to utilise rifts to return "home" to Cinera. The Aereni have begun arriving there in small batches. Due to their lost knowledge of Cinera, the rifts tend to be unstable, with many Aereni being either transported to different locations, or in some cases, dying entirely during transport.   The Aereni do not have a home in Cinera as yet, but they can easily pass as a typical High Elf. Any regular elf of Cinera can easily spot an Aereni, however.

Relations

The Aereni have minimal to no knowledge of any other races other than their own, and the tanar'ri. Humans inherently intrigue them with their ingenuity and adaptive nature, dwarves get their interest on their skilled craftsmanship, and gnomes amuse them with their antics and contraptions.   Most Aereni that live on Cinera have taken to travelling to learn as much of the other races as they can, and to live as best they can. A Cineran Aereni typically takes on the life of an adventurer to fulfil this end.
