The Old Ways

The Furse follow what is known as The Old Ways. Ancestor and hero worship along with reputation and honor are major beliefs in Furse Space. The Old Ways are tolerant of other faiths and all are free to follow the faith they so wish but the Old Ways are by far the largest in Furse Space.

The rule of law and hospitality are held in high esteem in Old Ways although some laws are held in higher view such as the laws of Rodger ‘The Lawgiver’ Aegis, the Laws of XXXXX or the Laws of the Memnons.

There is no official priestly class within the Old Ways but there are hundred if not thousands of local orders. Orders based on bloodlines and famous hero’s such as King Rodger ‘The Shield’ Stout or the Memnons.

Often these local orders have those who can use minor spells and healing taught to them by Techno-Mages. These spells are often passed down for generations within the order and some have become famous as master of one form or another. Although few would be able to stand against a trained Techno-Mage it shows that most people can learn to tap into the magics of the Techno-Mages.

Most followers of the Old Ways find peace in natural. Shrines are often made in an attempt to live with instead of against natural and have survived for hundreds and thousands of years.

Followers of the Old Ways will often have a large Sash on their chest with the pins of the many Orders they belong too. A status of prestige and display. Metals for service or honor are often found beside that of pins for rank in the Imperial Guard, service pins, and Pins of small local Orders.

The Old Ways have long been under threat from the Fabian Faith and other religions. Caderyn ‘The Great’ Cerwyn because the first and only Fabian to be feared by the Furse and conquer Furse Space. Even the Fabian Dominion which was so often thrown out of Old Furia Space could not conquer the worlds of the Furse.

Caderyn launched his massive conversions of Old Furia with his many campaigns against the old Furse Empire before it was shattered after the Skoll re-invaded the Old Ruins of southern Furse Space.

Since then the Old Ways have fought to hang on as the Fabian Faith continues to work it’s way from world to world that even in the Kingdom of Fist and the Kingdom of the Wanes large compounds of the Fabian Faith can be found when years past there would be none.
