Imperial Guard

The Imperial Guard is the legacy of Rodger the Lawgiver the Lawgiver. Born after the Corporate Wars. Every citizen of the Empire serve a single five year term. Those who do not serve are deemed civilians. Citizens enjoy greater rights then civilians but all are born free, and subject to the same laws and freedoms.   The Imperial Guard is so built into the worlds of Furse Space that every time the Empire has fallen, branches of the Guard live on and continue, only to one day unite in the formation of the Empire again. Currently the Imperial is Split into five main branches. The Imperial Guards of Fist, Highpass, The Wanes, The Jom, and the many nations in Bothina.   The Guard acts as not just the military arm of the Furse Empire, but also civil side as well. There are whole legions of lawyers and builders who will never see a battlefield. Still they serve.   The Laws of Titus mandated a five year term for citizenhood.   While serving in the Imperial Guard, guardmen are allowed to vote and enjoy other rights civilians do not.   Citizens who serve 25 years in the Guard are granted a plot of land in which to settle down with their family. This will cost a service member 30 years of their life in the Guard as one cannot become a Citizen until they have served a full term of five years.   All citizens can be drafted into the Guard for local service in times of crisis. This continues until Citizens reach 75 years of service as a citizen.   The Imperial Guard brands itself as duty and an adventure.
