Eritahz Beetle (Air-it-oz)

This beetle grows to roughly two feet long with long mandibles. It's bite transfers the venom to it's victims and continues to inject the venom until it dies. If not removed, quickly the resulting Eritaz Infection alters the victim's genetic code and physically changes them forever.

Genetics and Reproduction

The beetles themselves appear to reproduce like any beetle. Egg sacks hidden in dark and damp recesses of caves, in this particular case, though the Eritaz Infection raises some other questions in addition to the seeming ability of the victims to widen their habitats. Due to the dangerous nature of these beetles and the camoflaging of their nests, additional information is currently vague on additional details.

Ecology and Habitats

The Eritaz Beetles are most often located in the mountainous regions of Vaysoom, though most closely concentrated toward The Barrier.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Eritaz Beetles feed on the life energy of their victims, weakening them and eventually taking over the host body through the Eritaz Infection. Scholars believe that is is due to this that the Eritaz have been located in other regions, though far more rare.
