Prachtar: The Village at the End of the World

Prachtar? Who would want to go there? There's nothing there but that bottomless crack they call a valley!

Geography

Prachtar is a small village near the Evermore Cliffs, an endless abyss of a valley where no one who jumps down there has ever been seen again. The area is mostly Prairie, with distant mountains dotting the horizon. The Evermore Cliffs seem to have a further side to them from the viewpoint of Prachtar, the valley seeming to end about a mile away. However any attempt to cross the valley or go around it has failed, and any birds crossing the valley seem to plummet downwards. Some of the townsfolk say that they see shadowy figures on the other side near dusk. There is a river 3 miles north and due to the flat plains of the area, on a blue sun, Prachtar will often flood.

Fauna & Flora

The Flora and Fauna change month by month. In the bright seasons, foragers will often find plump, scrumptious berries growing on bushes that can be pleasantly spicy under a red sun, citrusy under and orange sun, and so forth. In the dark seasons however these berries all become poisonous, and under the dreaded dark indigo sun, these berries will become animated. Animal life tends to be the normal tortises with 4 eyes, coyotes holding signs with messages of danger written on them, the venemous candy spiders, and so forth. The top of the food chain belongs to what locals call "Phoenix", a yellow, oily feathered dragon who is almost never seem but for some reason always felt.

Natural Resources

Being a Prairie, the fields around Prachtar tend to not have trees unless they are cultivated by farmers, so wood is very rare. Iron however is abundant, and Prachtar is a thriving mining town for that. Clean water on a blue sun is extremely abundant due to the flooding. Sometimes, every so often, a forager finds an endangered vankas plant growing on the side of the Evermore Cliffs.
