Basic Information

Anatomy

They stand at 7 feet tall with about a 2 inch variance in height. Their bodies are made of a tough leather like substance. They have a pair of eyes on a circularbhead. The eyes will glow a dim orange when empty and green when full. The head has no other features.
Their bodies are hallow barrel shapes. Able to open from the front. They have 2 external human like arms. The hallow cavity in their chests is large enough to hold a grown man. The cavity also contains 2 more arms. These arms are far closer to tentacles and are used when capturing their prey. The chest cavity seems to dampen magic. As survivors have reported not being able to cast spells while trapped in the machine.
Their legs are also human like. Normally their walking is rather stunted and jerky. When attacking their movements are far more fluid. This is likely done to conserve energy. If they even need energy.

Ecology and Habitats

They tend to be found in large groups in secluded areas or on their own waiting in ambush. They prefer ambush hunting and will not attack a group.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They seem to only posses sight. All other senses are either not present or far too week to be detected. Their sight is rather short and largely motion based. Hearing is nonexistent. They don't react to touching on the outsides of their bodies. Though they seem to be able to detect when a victim is in its stomach.
However some older records on these machines seem to contradict these thoughts. With several reports having them able to not only see stationary targets from farther than expected distances, but also reports on them responding to sound.
The common theory for this being that these machines have decayed over time. Leading to a reduction in all senses. Another theory is that the older reports were dealing with a more advanced model of the same machine.
