The Dragonborn

"Dragon people, or shorthand for half-dragon people. They don't always like dragons, some even going as far as to be extremely anti-dragon. VERY tiny, but big distinctinction between them and other dragon people. Like Kobolds."

Ancestry Talents

Dragonborn Origin

You are Dragonborn, the very fiber of your being coming from the dragons themselves. Whether that was from experimentation spanning thousands of years, a ritual that blessed you or your people, or from your people's origin from a world where dragons influenced everything, that essence remains in you, giving you the ability to forge your own fate.

You gain an instance of the Draconic Progenitor common feature.

Additionally, you can use your mouth as a Casting Focus, and can keep using the Somatic properties of Abilities as lon g as you aren't Silenced.

Finally, you gain the Dragon Spit ancestry talent for free.

Special: If you pick the Draconic Legacy Versatile Heritage, you can pick an additional Ancestry Talent for every 3 Character Levels you have.

This Talent cannot be swapped.

Dragon Spit)

You can spit fire, acid, ice, or whatever pertains to your draconic origin, allowing you to spit elemental energy in small, powerful bursts.

You have the Draconic Igniter Natural Weapon. It is considered a thrown weapon that deals damage according to your Draconic Progenitor(s), equal to 1d4 + your Half-Proficiency, and has a baseline Critical Multiplier of x3. It is part of the Thrown and Unarmed weapon groups, and has the Agile ⚙️, Finesse ⚙️, Forceful⚙️, and Thrown⚙️ (30/60) traits.

It is not actually spit. Unless you want it to be...?

This Talent cannot be swapped.

Draconic Resistance

You possess a fairly resistant set of scales, thanks to your progenitor and your own miniature Affinity Core.

You gain Damage Resistance to the element from one of your Draconic Progenitor common features, if you have it. If you gain damage resistance to that type from elsewhere, you gain Damage Reduction equal to Half-Proficiency + 1 to it instead.

Breath Weapon

Using your Draconic Lineage, you've learned how to channel inner elemental power into a deadly breath attack.

Using 2 actions / ◈◈, you charge and release your dragon’s breath, hitting multiple enemies at once in a 30 ft line or a 15 ft cone (your choice). You make an attack roll with this 'weapon' (you are considered proficient), and use an attribute modifier of your choice for scaling and damage.

Each creature hit takes deals damage equal to 1d12 + the chosen attribute, multiplied by your Half Proficiency (e.g. a red Dragonborn or Kobold of character level 5 with +4 Con would deal 1d12+4*2 fire damage.)

This Breath Weapon is considered an Unarmed Weapon and scales with adjustments and modifiers to such, as well as being used for feat/ures that use them (like maneuvers). The attack is also considered an ability, and can be modified by Augment feats. Finally, Breathe Weapons ignores Blockstun.

You can only use the Breath Weapon a number of times per Short Rest equal to your CON + Half Proficiency.

Heritage Choice

You may pick a heritage. You gain everything listed from such.

Variant Ancestry Talents

Some of your talents can swapped for the ones listed below, or be taken at a later levels via Character Progression. If your GM is using the Classic Ancestries optional rule, you can only take the talents below as you level up, after level 1.
Furthermore, due to the nature of Dragonborn, they can gain talents available to other Ancestries who count as 'Dragonfolk' or 'Scalefolk'. Those talents will be listed underneath their unique talents for each section below (i.e. They do not need to take the Draconic Legacy Versatile Heritage in order to gain access to those talents).
Here are the talents you can swap at level 1.

Trivia

    • Dragonborn are not Kobolds, despite sharing many similarities.
    • Prior to 2023, Dragonborn were not in the public domain and couldn't be reprinted from Wotc. material. This is despite that Dragonborn were mostly not used or balanced from 2014 to 2022, when they were reprinted. Thankfully, this mistake can be corrected.
