The Akiniyan Catfolk

"Native to a world of spirit magic and duality, the Akiniyans were a tribal people until they were pushed out by the ever changing nature of the world. Their cleverness and strength was supplemented by their otherworldly kin, the Ologniyans, ultimately leading to their continued existence as a common ancestry on their plane, and one half of a recognized superpower on their world and beyond.   The Akinyans are, now, known for bringing their customs into the modern era, and their continued existence as proud warriors and survivors."

Akiniyan Mindset

You Might...

  • Have always been larger or faster than many of your peers, even if they are the same age as you.
  • Have the weight of your family or clan weighing on you, having a deep connection to them and their past.
  • Carefully scout a target or problem before dealing with it.

Others Probably...

  • Be intimidated by you, no matter how aloof you may come off.
  • Be surprised at how someone like you can be so precise or agile.
  • Ascribe more emotion than you feel due to involuntary purring or growling.

Description

Physical Description

Akiniyans are large Catfolk with many physical characteristics relating to "Big Cats". Most appear like humanoid lions, leopards, or jaguars; with many other kinds of appearances existing among the people. Most pelt patterns are calico, spotted, or blank; as striped appearance are rare or non-existent. Most Akiniyans stand nicely from 6' to 9' tall in adulthood, and weigh up to 45 Bulk (or ~225 kg / ~500 lbs).   Additinally, all Akiniyans have squarish jaws and thick, near animalistic hands and feet with four digits (including the thumb, for hands). Some Akiniyans are polydactyl, possessing 5 digits instead of four, though it's not known why this is, as this trait appeared well before they intermingled with other Catfolk of the plane.
