Voidwalker's Paradoxical Shift Spell in Changing Stars | World Anvil

Voidwalker's Paradoxical Shift

Voidwalker's Paradoxical Shift
4th-level transmutation
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Self
Components: V, S, M (a shard of void crystal and a loop of paradox thread)
Duration: Instantaneous
"Voidwalker's Paradoxical Shift" is a spell that bends the fabric of reality, allowing the caster to manipulate their own existence in space and time in a most extraordinary manner.
  Spell Effects:
Dimensional Displacement: Upon casting, you momentarily step into a void space, disappearing from your current location. You then reappear in any space within 60 feet that you can see or visualize. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.
Paradoxical Echo: When you reappear, you leave behind a temporary echo of yourself at your original location. This echo lasts until the end of your next turn. You can use your reaction to switch places with your echo once before it vanishes.
Temporal Confusion: Any creature that witnesses your shift and is within 10 feet of your departure or arrival point must make an Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is stunned until the end of its next turn, as it struggles to comprehend the paradoxical nature of your movement.
Reality Ripple: The space you vacate and the space you arrive at momentarily ripple with void energy. This energy distorts reality, causing any creatures of your choosing within 30 feet of these points to be momentarily disoriented, giving them disadvantage on their next Initiative roll, attack roll, saving throw, or Perception Skill check before the end of their next turn.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the maximum range of your Dimensional Displacement ability's teleportation increases by 20 feet, and the radius of the temporal confusion and reality ripple effects increases by 10 feet for each slot level above 4th.
"Voidwalker's Paradoxical Shift" is a spell of cunning and disorientation, perfectly suited for tacticians and those who favor a battlefield where confusion reigns and reality bends to their will.
