Celestial Convergence Spell in Changing Stars | World Anvil

Celestial Convergence

Celestial Convergence
9th-level evocation
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 500 feet
Components: V, S, M (a crystal prism and a fragment of meteorite)
Duration: Instantaneous
Celestial Convergence harnesses the distant energies of the stars, causing them to momentarily align and unleash their power upon a designated area.
Stellar Impact: Choose a point you can see within range. A brilliant beam of concentrated celestial energy descends from the sky to that point. The impact creates a 100-foot radius, 50-foot high cylinder of radiant energy centered on that point.
Radiant Destruction: Each creature of your choosing in the area must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 12d10 radiant damage and is blinded for 1 minute. On a successful save, a creature takes half damage and isn't blinded. Undead and creatures vulnerable to radiant damage make this saving throw with disadvantage.
Gravity Distortion: The immense gravitational force of the converging celestial bodies creates a temporary gravity well at the impact site. For the next minute, all movement within the area is halved, and creatures attempting to fly are pulled down 60 feet at the start of each of their turns, unless they succeed on a Strength saving throw.
Stellar Revelation: The area becomes intensely illuminated with starlight that reveals all hidden and invisible creatures and objects, dispelling any darkness and illusion effects created by spells of 5th level or lower.
Cosmic Residue: After the explosion, a residual cosmic energy lingers in the area for 1d4 hours. This energy grants advantage on saving throws against spells to all creatures within the radius.
  Subclasses: Celestial Warlock, Stars Druid
Optional/Variant Classes: Sorcerer, Wizard, Cleric
