Ceril, God of Illusions and Trickery
Ceril is the tricksy and sometimes malovelant deity representing Illusions and the act of Trickery
Description
Ceril doesn't really have an appearance, for it only shows its true form very seldom. This true appearance resembles a 3 meter tall Koala-like creature wearing a theatrical mask that shows its emotions in a very simplified manner. Emanating from Ceril's body are multiple strands of very thin, silky cloth that come in all different colours and sparkle like a starry nightsky. In addition to that, Ceril is always surrounded by a glittery mist which it can shape to any illusionary form it likes. There are many other appearances Ceril likes to assume to not give its true nature away: a confused black Felis, a blonde, wandering Half-Elf bard and a slender white panther being the most prominent of them.Personality
Ceril is as much a trickster as any being can be. It likes to play with the people seeking its help or praying to it, until they either go insane or Ceril loses interest in them and helps them to make them go away faster. Although it can go as far as making illusionory volcanos break out to scare people, Ceril's intention are almost never ill-intended and mostly serve for its own amusement (even though it has a twisted sense of humour)Divine Realm
Ceril's Divine Realm is the Tree of Trickery in the Feywild. The tree is humongous, even for Feywild standards but can only be seen once one is standing over one of its roots or is touching the tree directly. The tree houses thousands of platform within its branches, which can only be reached by climbing there. Every leaf of the tree has a different colour and every branch a different shape. The platform can look any way Ceril wants them to. Some are representations of places on the material plane, while others are changing every few seconds. Just watch out for shady furniture, as those are known to sometimes kick or hit visitors when they are not looking.Worshippers
Ceril is worshipped by many different people. Tricksters, Show-Magicians, Thieves and Illusionists to name a few. There is also a grand cleric order of Ceril on the Cat Island of Pachaka Hiyaka.History
Ceril has always been an odd creature. Nothing is known over how it came into existence (most likely a whim of the universe), but it reached divinity in 12 AA after it successfully tricked Vero'Mas himself into thinking that all of Cethea was being destroyed by the Primordials (who at that point have been sealed away for thousands of years). A prank that lasted for 3 years. After Vadislav, the god of the Dead and Souls, who, in 1358 AA was still a mortal adventurer, had acquired the Mask of Aeon, he ventured to the Cat Island in order to receive Ceril's blessing for the mask. The god took its sweet time toying with the latter godly colleague and almost drove him insane with its antics, but granted him the blessing after Vadislav had endured hours of mental torture. During the spellplague Ceril lived in a sacred grove on the Cat Island of Pachaka Hiyaka, where a cleric order of the god accepted the returned Ceril as their leader until it was ascended again in 1359 AA by Vero'Mas.
