Manticore
Manticores are elemental wildcats with two different pairs of horns and magical powers depending on their elemental form. They‘re not easy to find because they can blend in with the surroundings or just tend to hide from any sentient creature/humanoid. They can live everywhere as long as they don‘t run out of food and/or water.
When you find one that has a hard time running away from you or refuses to hide, be prepared to combat the creature or have a telepathic voice speaking with you. That‘s their only way of communicating with any other animal/monster/humanoid/other that isn‘t a manticore themselves.
They come in various elements, such as snow, ice, stone, crystal, earth, fire, water, wind, spark and plant.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The manticore walks on four legs that look like feline paws. Most manticores have yellow eyes and a mane followed by a pair of devil horns and a pair of capricorn horns. Their tails are either bushy or have a brushlike fur on the tip of their tail. Besides those features they look like wildcats overall.
Biological Traits
Female manticores differ from the male ones by not having a mane and horns.
Genetics and Reproduction
They‘re mammals and therefore can reproduce the same way all mammals do.
Growth Rate & Stages
Manticores grow fast, meaning they reach the adulthood in 4 years, fullgrown with a mane, horns and the gift of elemental magic and telepathy.
Ecology and Habitats
Depending on the elements they represent, Manticores can live and hide anywhere as long as their element fits with the surroundings.
For example: Ice and Snow Manticores can live up north where it‘s cold and snowy. Fire Manticores feel at home in the south, where the last remaining volcanoes are. Plant Manticores live and hide well the most in jungles and forests.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Despite of looking like different elements, they still are considered as felines and have to eat meat. Sometimes they eat grass if they feel like it.
Biological Cycle
In places where there‘s constant season changes, Plant, Earth and Water Manticores have to change places the most so they won‘t get too cold or too hot. They‘re fast runners, so they can run from the Western to the Eastern Continent within a half day.
