Avi are humanoid birds without wings but arms. They are as tall as humans and mostly prefer to live in the mountains.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Avis usually have the head of an owl but they also have short and pointy ears. Most of them have expressive and thick eyebrows too. They have tailfeathers along with feathers all over their body except on their legs, talons and forearms. Otherwise they have a humanlike anatomy.

Genetics and Reproduction

The Avis lay eggs, although for each birth, it's 1-3 eggs.

Growth Rate & Stages

The Avi hatchlings grow to 10% faster than human babies. They start to grow their fluff in about 3 months and then the fluff gets replaced with actual feathers at 8 months.

Ecology and Habitats

They like to live in the mountains but they can also live on land.

They‘re carnivores, meaning they eat fish, mice, squirrels, insects

The Avi are a well-respected race considering their relationship with the dwarves, humans, elves, frogs and Xanktheels. Dragonians however still hold a grudge towards them since the Avis prefer the griffons over the dragons.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Most avis‘ feathers come in white, gray, brown and black but only a few exceptions may occur, naturally or marking-wise. A few were even seen with red, blue, even yellow feathers.
