The Urubogar Religion

Urubogar is a religious sec on the island of Surao. Surao is an island that is a part of the ring of islands around the Gleaming Teal Abyss, off the Efren coast. Those who are members of the Urubogar worship the many whirlpools that are in constant flux around the eastern side of the island. They believe that it is their god letting them know when there are things that need to be fixed in their lives. So when a whirlpool appears within sight of the village or town, they believe that something is out of balance and therefore must be fixed. In some villages along the east coast of Surao, this has had very good outcomes. Findings of corrupt village officials, murders, ending of family fugues.   Sadly though in two villages, it has caused some problems between those that are of Urubogar and those that are not. In these villages, there have been cases where a whirlpool has appeared and innocents are accused of crimes they have not committed or have been blamed for things that were out of their control. Those who are mostly blamed are those not of the Urubogar faith. In these villages, the officials end up working hard to keep track of the whirlpools and the crimes that are in the village. In one village, the officials have set up a council of those that are of the Urubogar faith and those that are not. The purpose of this council is to address the concerns of both parties without throwing blame around when a whirlpool appears. Thur this council they have had success in easing the tensions between the Urubogar members and the rest of the village.   The code that the Urubogar goes by is. Do not abuse any power in any form. Do not take life for granted. Cast out murders and rapists, so they can seek and ask forgiveness from god. Strive to live life in harmony with all. Do not unloose your anger onto others. Work for the common good.
