The Elli monument

A thousand years ago the Elli monument disappeared. Far off the southeast coast of Lafliuton next to Gleaming Teal Abyss is a set of islands, the Ellingmore Archipelago. It is a set of three islands that have very shallow water surrounding them. In fact, if the sea level dropped just 100 feet Central Heaven would have a fourth content. But as it stands now these are islands. In the middle of the three islands, there is a dark spot in the ocean. It is a sinkhole or lake the experts are still divided on it. Above this lake/sinkhole floating on the water sat an island. Not connected to the sea bed. On top were sixteen short obelisks highly decorated and delicately carved in an unknown language. They made two circles, the smaller made of four while the twelve made an outer circle. Those that saw it and explored it found that there was one carving in common to all of them. They figured that it was the name of someone important or a god/goddess.  Some have even thought that the name is of the people who created the monument. All the experts and those that saw the monument all felt that it was a very special sight and needed to be protected. However, the whole island and everything on it just disappeared.   No one is quite sure what happened as the experts who study the sea say that there hasn’t been a sea-level change in two thousand years. They even added if it had been a sea level change the island would still be there just below. Then some others pointed out that the island floated and if the sea had risen it would have just also risen.   In the written record from the Ellingmore Archipelago islands said about two months before the reported disappearance of the Elli monument that the seas around the Gleaming teal Abyss were usually ruff and trapped many on the islands. Then there was a loud sharp whinny noise followed by a bright blue/purple light that shinned for at least half of a day then everything went silent. The seas calmed the light, sound gone. The next morning some experts and tourists went to the Elli monument only to discover that it was gone. To this day it is a mystery what happened in those two months that were followed by the light. All anyone knows is that the Elli monument had disappeared without a trace.
