Kyath Dorei

Kyath Dorei is an Elven city that sits high in the mountains. It is one of the two starting points to explore the Voiceless waste. This city is in two parts. One part is where the trade, festivals, important events, and city government meets. The second part of the city is where folks live and eat. The Gathering, which is what the people of Kyath Dorei call the part of the city where the trade, city government offices, and important events take place. This part of the city resides on the forest floor, with caves burrowed into the mountain for shops, offices, and such. These caves are carved into the bedrock and around the trees that grow in the mountains. There are two large halls that are for festivals and weddings
The Rest, which is what the people call where people live, gather, and eat, is in the tree tops. The Elves of Kyath Dorei have encouraged some of the trees of the mountain to grow into stairs that lead up to the tops of the trees. There they created walkways using the trees and other materials from the forest. These walkways lead to the food district, then to the many different living areas. There is one part for government officials, another for traders, another for travelers, and lastly an area for the rest of the citizens of Kyath Dorie. There are also a few small community centers in each of the living districts. These are for small gatherings. Mostly used for discussing problems in their areas.
For most of the year Kyath Dorei is quiet and really only has traders coming and going into the city. However, during the winter months, when explorers and magiolgists come to visit the voiceless waste the city becomes very bustling. The citizens of Kyath Dorei have a very large festival at the beginning of what they call ‘winter voices’. This festival starts two days before anyone is allowed into the voiceless wastes and ends when they can enter. The other huge festival that happens in Kyath Dorei is every 10 years when they have a change in the city government officials.
