Halfkit

Halfkit is a renowned thief of the western half of Owhua. His name was oddly appropriate. He was a half elf and half feline shifter. He grew up in a very racist community. His father the shifter would never acknowledge him. His mother left to raise him all alone. She had a very difficult time finding work. It wasn’t until she met another half that took Both of them in did things improve. Halfkit’s father was the lord of the city that they lived in. Halfkit’s mother and one that he looked up to as a father were killed when he was 15. Halfkit was blamed and in prisoned for their murders. He was in for 30 years before he, according to the government was accidentally released. So five years after he was out and trying to make a living when they attempted to arrest him again for no reason. Many say that is when decide he had enough. He had a few friends who joined him and helped him out. Together they started to steal and harass the law enforcement officers. Finally they got into the city lord’s treasury. In side they found many documents about the halves in the city and made up crimes against them. Also found documentation about systematically killing halves off. His group took this information and gave it to one that they trusted the most. Halfkit told her to take it and hide it until the time was right. She, Halfkit’s lover, wife, Kieza did as requested and hid the documents until five years before her death. Halfkit and his gang went to several other city states along the west side of Owhua finding documents. These documents were given to Kieza. Any money that they stole was given back to the halves that were in the area that they stole from.
About 20 years passed when a friend of one of the gang betrayed them. That betrayer was killed, but not by those he betrayed but by the officials he told as they did not do what the betray said they were going to do, because they saw the extra security and did not attack. They instead went to visit Kieza and her children. That was the last time that Kieza saw him. They decided to attack another lord when law enforcement was tipped off that they were hiding in an unused school at the edge of town. There they were attacked and all but Halfkit were killed. Halfkit was captured and faced execution.
The governments have tried hard to paint Halfkit as a horrible thief and menace to society. However many shifters and halves believe that he was only doing what he could to help those around him from corrupt governments. This was brought up even more when Neka, Noriko, Halfkit’s twins showed up with several documents that showed that said officials were trying to rid areas of halves and those that had anything to do with halves.
To this day there is still a debate to this day however things are slowly changing as many of those lords and officials are starting to die or be kicked out.
