Flying hematite

Flying hematite or it less well known shinny hematite, is found on both Lafliuton and Owhua but only mined on Lafliuton.   Flying hematite is a dark shinny gray cube shaped rock. It is found easily as the rock it is set into is either tan, or almost white. It is a stable rock and doesn’t break down. The rock is odorless and some even say that it steals the smells around it. However it does have a slight bread flavor.   Flying hematite or Shinny hematite is mined in several different locations on Lafliuton. Most of the mines started off as caves where the Flying hematite was found and the people started to dig. There are two mines that are shaft mine dug into a basalt rock that has several veins of the Flying hematite. The work in the basalt shaft mines is hard as the surrounding rock can be very difficult to dig into. The cave mines are a little easier as the rock in those locations tend to be softer.   Flying hematite is used in many things. One of the first things that it was used for was jewelry pieces, ornamental and ceremonially items. An carver was busy making an ornate table for the king of Tavell by using the dust of Flying hematite (or known at that time as only Shinny hematite) that was left over from another project. He left it over night, when he came in the next morning the table was floating. After that there was many different tests to figure out what was going on. It was quickly discovered that while Flying hematite was a solid rock it kind of only repelled things away. But once Flying hematite was ground up, it could make stuff float. During these experiments in trying to understand it they found that one of its other proprieties was that it could extend magic. Finding out the Shinny hematite more commonly known as Flying hematite lead to the development of the Saebinships.
