Firhusk Tree

Firhusk is a milti used tree. The Firhusk grows on the north part of the continents of Owhua, and Efren while growing on the southern parts of Lafliuton and Nucrana. The tree is traded to the other parts of the world that don’t have it. The uses for this tree are many and some are still being discovered. To start the leaves are pulled into strips creating a fiber that is used for twisting into mats, and baskets. Some areas use it in combination with another to make a strong and long lasting rope. For the Elven population it is used to heal bruises. When used in the shifter population it causes unwanted side effects and does not help the bruises. Next the branches are used as timber for bows and other tools. One cultivar of the tree grows straight branches which are very popular for walking sticks and making arrows. These Straight Firhusk as they are called only grow on the continent Owhua. The bark of all the Firhusk are used for medicine and color dye, expect for the curly Firhusk. The Cruly Firhusk is so name because it is complete opposite of the Straight Firhusk with very twisted and curly branches. The Curly Firhusk bark however is a deadly poison. The medicine created from the Firhusk bark is mainly used for the shifters and halves. It is not as effective for the Elven population. The dye is used to make paints, stains for other woods and clothing. Different types of Firhusk bark make different colors. The Curly Firhusk is still used in this manor but only two places in the world will do it. The Curly Firhusk color is highly sought after by those of high status. Lastly the trunk of the tree is commonly used as a building material. It is mostly used in building houses and boats. The wood is very water resistance and repels most insects.
