Melthazor

An ancient Elvish sorcerer, Melthazor has sharped his arcane skills over time unknown. He first rose to prominence during the formation of Arendia, as one of the many rival rulers trying to claim the land. He ruled his armies through powerful suggestion spells, however this proved their eventual downfall. Though the armies were merciless, and worked with ruthless efficiency, they lack intiative on an individual level, and slowly the army's size shrunk until Melthazor was left with a handful of mindless warriors atop a bloody atoll, surrounded by three rivals who banded against one another. With a curse he summoned a portal and vanished with his retinue.

Eventually reports came of an unnatural tower growing in Gors Murgo. It hurt the eyes of those who beheld it, twisting in unnatural, impossible contortions. Within this tower, Melthazor plotted and planned. After hundreds of years, he appeared in the Arendish court with a dire warning to King Anheg. The king however dismissed his warning with a laugh, thinking naught of the stranger until the next morning upon the discovery that his daughter had vanished.
Melthazor raised Eliza, teaching and punishing her as his whims dictated. He guarded her with a fearsome guard drake, Lorgar. Over time he twisted her mind, through both magicks and manipulations until she struggled to see him as a cruel captor, but rather an over zealous guardian.
One the fateful day that Laron and his band of adventurers broke into his Eldritch Tower, traversed the Scintillating Stairs and crossed The Expanse, Melthazor was on the other side of the world, weaving his plots. Due to the careful antimagic field that Salazar Salmi applied, his warnings and alarms failed to trigger until it was too late. Upon realising the occurance, Melthazor's fury was fearsome to behold. Stories say that the eruption of Uglo was due to his wrath.
