Ironeyes

The Final Reckoning

Ironeyes greets all sentient life as it ends, gaunt hand clutching his pale scythe. From beneath his hooded cowl, he stares upon mortals through the two iron nails driven into his eye sockets.
Upon a person's death, Ironeyes appears before them, severing their soul from their ashen form before weighing a lifetimes worth of actions with his obsidian scales. Those that did more good than ill are sent to the halls below, but those that did more ill than aid are imprisoned in the skies above for their sins.
In dark taprooms, over watery beer, there are tales of ol' Ironeyes playing a game for a man soul, returning them to life if they somehow beat him.
