Orichalcum Greatbow

Origins

First sighted during the Second Wasteland-Eidel War.     Legends claim the origin of the weapon to lie with by a man only known by the moniker of Ogres' Bane, latter passing it onto his apprentice, founder of an ancient noble house. This doesn't quite hold up to scrutiny from historians: the sheer expense of crafting this much orichalcum, given the time period, would likely place its creator as one of the richest individuals in the empire. Yet the story would have one believe that their fortune only came after they took up this bow? Preposterous. Extensive speculation has popped up to explain this, but none are supported by any significant evidence.   The Ogre's Bane himself, while mysterious, is easily rationalized as likely being a Wastelander xiphaem master who hid his identity to avoid persecution during the war against his homeland.   Regardless of dubious origin, the first known orichalcum greatbow remains an heirloom Eidel's longest-running noble line. As the centuries passed and orichalcum production methods improved, numerous other instances popped up, though the original is notable for being unusually well-crafted given the time period's machining capabilities (dating around a hundred years before steel became consistently reproducible, for one).
