Reduced nutritional requirements, increased mobility. Increased risk of breaking bones.

Ghostwings

A subset of those who have hollow bones can manifest spectral wings of light, including a Storms-aligned invocation to create additional lift etc. that allows such wings to function more efficiently than on paper. Generally speaking, the wings can be 'flared' by focusing Will into them- the more one pours, the more effective and visible the wings will be. Resting visibility is mostly dependent upon soul flow, much like eye glow.

Framed Wings

Changes to skeletal structure. Longer arms, plus visible bone spurs along joints. Slightly restricted wrist mobility as a result. Wings manifest linked to arms- additional wings on back linked to arms' somewhat like a moth's.
Very fast, though restricts use of limbs.

Mirage Wings

Shorter shins & thighs, longer tarsus, creating a reverse-jointed appearance. Wings manifest purely on back.
Significantly lower maximum speed, though more maneuverable- wings move independently of arms and can move much faster than one can swing their arms.
The appearance of these wings is somewhat reminiscent of a mirage dragon's.

Inheritance

In those without ghostwings, any mix of the physical traits can occur. There's a common misconception that cross-breeding between the wing types is what causes the lack of manifestation. Ghostwings are actually made of arcane circuits which grow on the inside edges of one's bones, mostly dictated by the pattern of air bubbles.
It's possible to have both traits. The main advantage here is flexibility, as one can't really use both at the same time, though rapid switching is possible with practice.
Note that the wings have no actual physical form- while a light echo exists, there's no actual Hard Light being projected in the conventional sense.
Manifestation of wings can skip generations. However, it becomes progressively less likely as generations go on.
