Immortality through the Salsencio
Provided they remain intact the body of any salt caster can periodically animate. The Selsencio is a ritual where a subject performs controlled self mummification and with the aid of magic gains permanent consciousness after death, provided their body remains intact. The bodies of those who have undergone the ritual, with proper care and protection, can remain in perfect condition indefinitely.
History
The ritual seems to have origins from before the Granula as texts on it have similar writing to the civilization that existed on the west coast of Fital. Additionally the ritual is also practiced in some colonies in the northern sea
Execution
The ritual requires an elaborate salt circle that performs a number of functions. First it naturally drains air and moisture out of the circle as well as the caster. Second the caster pours energy into the spell until their eventual death from the physical backlash. After the casters death the circle releases the stored power, fracturing the soul of the caster as it leaves the body and slightly warping reality within the circle. The soul fragments are bound to the location and can be focused through the body to perform magic or temporarily animate. creatures find it difficult to enter the circle while physical objects seem to bend around a wall of force.
Components and tools
In addition to the salt for the circle the ritual also requires the following material components
A two inch thick twenty foot chord of Tecery bands with a specific and diffucult enchantment (worth~20,000gp)
A large hollow copper rod (worth~50gp)
A thunderstone (worth~200gp)
If the caster would like to scry or influence the outside world they also need sending stones or some other object capable of trans dimensional communication
