Western Watch
The border guard force assigned to the Western border of Lorstan, once given distinction for their service. Though their main objective is to defend the borders of Lorstan, they also police and serve settlements within their assigned lands and can be called upon by the Dynast to fight wars or more specialized objectives.
Public Agenda
As with the rest of the military Watches of Lorstan, the Western Watch is mainly a border guard. When the situation or the Dynast calls, they are also an auxiliary military unit for the surrounding territories or capital. Assigned to the Western border of Lorstan, they mostly engage with the nomadic warriors of the desert lands.
Assets
At the peak of their power, the Western Watch had a standing force of 45,000 soldiers and had established an excellent foothold in the desert region, stemming the raiding attempts of the nomads. By the year 6768, the Watch encountered an issue with their finances due to the mismanagement of their former leader. This also led to a mass resignation of their once impressive array of soldiers. The issues compounded with gear falling into disrepair and fortifications neglected.
Disbandment
Along with the rest of the royally mandated and controlled assets, the Western Watch fell apart during the civil war that destroyed the Kingdom, in 9568.
