Drudaesal

Once ravaged by savage, monsterous beasts, the Kingdom of Drudaesal has withstood hardship upon hardship. Upon its founding, much of the population lived in massive fortress-cities; carved into the landscape to protect them from the elements. There were always those, however, that dreamt of purging their lands from monsters, so that they may walk free; while their brethren toiled in the mountains, mining for precious metals, the warriors took those metals and made tools for the hunt. The current people of Oaren speak of this time as a time of legend; long before even The Calamity bands of the underground's finest warriors would embark on adventures to slay dinosaurs, hydras, dragons, and whatever else the land would throw at them. The people won. Now, while patches of dangerous wilderness remain, most of Drudaesal is safe. Surface settlements have sprung up, but the massive fortress-cities and the fire in the blood of its citizens remind everyone of Drudaesal's past. Those who find the fire unquenchable often make expeditions to the wilds of Aechoron, where dangers reminiscent of their ancient past still lurk.
