The Red Hand

The Red Hand is a criminal syndicate with chapters all around the world with their headquarters based inside the Faltwin Kingdom. They run many different racketeering operations with their most prominent ones being drug distribution, banking, human trafficking, gambling, assassinations, prostitution, and security. 
They hold great influence over many Faltwin Nobles and even influence the Court of Lords. Many of these Nobles regularly use the Red Hand's services whether its hiring workers for security, buying slaves, attending brothels, or using their illicit banking services to avoid taxes. As such, they have mountains of blackmail to make the Nobles do whatever they want. 
While their influence is not as prevalent in the Adventuring Guild many adventurers will do work on the side for the Red Hand in order to make some extra coin which can sometimes end up with the Hand blackmailing them into doing more insidious jobs though this is rare as the Hand often relies on goodwill and lots of coin when dealing with adventurers. 
They often employ the use of workers for security details and enforcement, they also use them for assassination missions. These are often very profitable jobs for workers and is one of the major reasons for the worker's abysmal reputation.  
Their banking includes helping the rich and powerful hide away money or providing ways to avoid taxes but their most profitable and infamous service are loans. These loans are often offered to struggling nobles or more commonly to the average folk living in big cities, rarely do are these loans offered to peasants in the villages where the Red Hand rarely operates outside of growing drugs and taking slaves. While at first the loans seem to be a way out of poverty and to achieve goals that were once out of reach such as starting a business or buying a home they are much more insidious than meets the eye. These loans have incredibly high interests rates that often making it impossible for the borrowers to pay back their debt trapping them in a debt spiral until they are completely drained. Not being able to pay their debt often ends in a terrible fate as the Hand will take anything they want to even out their debt, this can include property or even members of the debtor's family.
