Acrantheia
The elven realm of Acrantheia lies to the West of the Black Peaks along the mighty Acrath River, and mostly consists of forest. The wood elf inhabitants, bordering as they do on the savage races of the Perakhuosh wastes, are skilled and ruthless warriors, peerless trackers and skilled adventurers.
Acrantheia was a vassal to, but not officially part of, the Taorminite empire. They had an arrangement to send a number of warriors to the Taorminite army every year, who acted as the scouts and trackers for the Taorminite forces.
Natural Wonder: the Five Arches of Acrath
The Acrath River is one of two largest in Casiphon by sheer volume of water, draining both the Hundervorne Mountains and the Black Peaks. It has carved an enormous canyon through the softer stone near the confluence of its two main tributaries, often over six hundred feet deep, leaving great arches of tougher material bridging the enormous distance of the canyon with a span of pink-grey granite in three separate places.
Modern Wonder: the Hanging Glades and Meadows of Acrantheia
The elves of Acrantheia seeded the two largest arches over the Acrath with Tryphaetha-trees, which sink their roots into the stone and hang down into the canyon hundreds of feet above the rushing waves. The trees stretch out slender branches into space, which support gardens, groves, walkways and dwellings suspended at a dizzying height above the crags and rapids below.
