Cascadia (Legends)

Cascadia is nation founded in the pacific north west of the Cascade mountains. A cataclysmic event some 1700 years earlier caused an apocalypse of untold proportions. Billions died, knowledge, and technology all but destroyed with it. For the past 500 years the longest reigning dynasty on Earth known as the Sovereigns have forged this new empire to become one of the wealthiest and most powerful nations on the planet. Outside forces threaten this prosperity that was hard fought in a world still recovering from over 1000 years of dark ages.   As Cascadia expands its wealth, knowledge, and influence so to do empires and kingdoms that would see the nation fail. The Sovereigns seen by their followers and subjects as not only the ruler of their nation but the spiritual head of their nature based religion. The Sovereigns are seen as divine figure heads who possess the knowledge and wisdom to see not only Cascadia but all of humanity out of its dark and savage ways.   Garret White Wolf the third child of the Sovereign Portland North Hawk has not bought into the family tradition of rule by divinity, he believes individuals should own their own destiny. As Garret reluctantly becomes more powerful and influential and begins to see the corruption that is growing in the world around him, will he use his position to sculpt is ideal world of individual freedom and prosperity, or will the power corrupt him like so many others before him. Only time will tell.
